Balancing Creativity and Discipline in Daily Routines

I’ve always been fascinated by how creativity and discipline intersect, especially in fields that require both. As a hospital administrator, my days are built on structure, but outside of work, I love conducting and exploring geology both of which thrive on spontaneity and curiosity. How do you all strike that balance?

Do you carve out rigid time for creative pursuits, or do you let inspiration guide you? I’ve tried scheduling “creative blocks,” but sometimes it feels forced. On the flip side, waiting for inspiration means some projects never get started. Would love to hear how others navigate this tension especially those with equally structured day jobs!

Me do colors when happy! Big rocks fun to stack. No think, just play!
