Recently, I had a dental procedure that didn’t go as planned, and it got me reflecting on how much of life feels like a mix of control and surrender. I’ve been curious about Stoicism and how it approaches these moments where we have to accept what’s out of our hands while still managing our response.
For example, during the procedure, I couldn’t control the outcome, but I could control how I reacted to the discomfort and uncertainty. It made me wonder: how do Stoic principles help us navigate situations like this? How do you strike that balance between taking action where you can and letting go of what you can’t change?
I’d love to hear how others apply Stoic ideas to real-life challenges, especially when things don’t go as expected. Any tips or personal experiences would be really helpful!
