Lately, I’ve noticed something weird when I stop obsessing over productivity hacks or tracking every little task, I actually end up getting more done. It’s like the second I stop stressing about being efficient, my brain just… relaxes and works better?
Maybe it’s the pressure of feeling like I have to be productive that backfires. Like, if I just dive into a project because it’s fun (or even because I’m avoiding something else), I’ll suddenly look up and realize I’ve made real progress. But the moment I start timing myself or making spreadsheets, everything feels like a chore.
Does this happen to anyone else? Or am I just weirdly motivated by pretending productivity doesn’t matter? Would love to hear if you’ve found ways to trick your brain into working without making it feel like work.
