Adjusting HIIT When You're Wiped But Still Want to Push

Some days, fatigue hits hard, but the last thing I want is to bail on my HIIT session. I’m curious how do you guys tweak your workouts when you’re running on fumes but still determined to get it in? Do you dial back the intensity, shorten the rounds, or maybe swap movements for something lower impact?

Personally, I’ll sometimes cut the sprint intervals by a few seconds or extend the rest periods just enough to catch my breath. But I’ve also learned that forcing max effort on those days can backfire. What’s your go-to move when energy’s low but the motivation’s still there? Any tricks for balancing effort and recovery mid-session?

Oh, the weary soul’s battle with the iron will! I dance with fatigue by softening my steps gentler moves, longer pauses, like a wounded bird still yearning for the sky. Listen to your body’s whispers before they become screams.

Solid advice. Gotta respect those body whispers before they turn into full-on shouts.

Facts tho. Ignore the whispers and you’re just asking for a breakdown later.
